Consultants or M&E Specialists have related educational qualifications and extensive experience and exposure to M&E field.

Oftentimes, consultancy positions are not permanent, attached to the organization nor offer the security of tenure. A Consultant works upon a contract and provides service/s to a particular project within an approved contract duration or period.

Their tasks are to provide comprehensive solutions, ideas, advice, and expertise that substantiate project outputs to improve existing circumstances.

Sufficient knowledge in M&E coupled with these skills may provide specialization in the M & E field.

Educational qualification in statistics and analytics related to M&E is also essential.

M & E evaluator tasks include conducting different types of evaluations, writing up reports, and validating ongoing M & E activities.

This task is categorized under consultancies by many organizations. These organizations require external evaluators to conduct assessments of different projects for a specific duration.

An evaluator must have extensive knowledge and experience working in the field or be knowledgeable in different types and mechanisms of evaluations.

This requires secondary educational qualifications. Masters or PhD levels with satisfactory experiences, skills, and expertise in conducting research activities and teaching in the fields related to M&E/social sciences are required.
